Default Weather in the Buttes

Thought I'd start a thread for anyone who sleds in the Buttes... Checked the weather, Isolated Rain Storms throughout the week, high not expected to get above 60 through Wednesday. Special weather statement is saying snow at 7500-8000 feet... It's comin' boys!!! I'm done with summer!

We're on the north end of the buttes (Graeagle/Portola area) and usually hit Gold/Mudd/Long/Spencer lakes, ect. I heard from another local that they got close to a foot up at Webber last night... Just a dusting down here at 4500', but at least it's a start! Supposed to stay cold the next couple of weeks, maybe we'll get some more moisture and be riding before Christmas

Another weather front coming in tonight... Been super cold (19 in the valley this morning) and doesn't look like it's going to warm up a whole bunch. Hoping to get a great base going for the start of the year!

By the time the weekend rolls around it will all be melted and I won't be able to ride anyways (you know, I work for a living ;-). I'm sure all the locals have been hittin the road hard anyways (they always do the first chance they get) and it's always miserable riding that road). Besides, hubby's sled is in pieces at the moment - just needs to get his cylinders honed and put the engine back together and he'll be good to go... Oh well, I'm sure we'll get more soon. In the meantime, I have my horses I need to finish up for the year and we need to get some quality hunting time in before the season ends! ;-)

10" or so at 4500' after the storm last night, tonight's storm looks even more promising... Took the ole' MXZ for a spin around the property while hubby finishes up his sled... Maybe a road ride in the near future? ;-)
