Default SEAT MATERIAL

OWN AN 07 RMK, WANT TO CHANGE THE MATERIAL ON THE SEAT, SOME OF THE NON SLIP STUFF. HMK HAD A SLED IN PUYALLUP WITH ORANGE COLORED NON SLIP VINYL ON THE TOP, I THINK RED WOULD LOOK GOOD. I STOPPED AT THE LOCAL UPHOLSTERY SHOP AND HE HAD SOME STUFF THAT LOOKED WAY TO GRIPPY. ANY IDEAS ON WHO SELLS THIS MATERIAL OR MAYBE SOMEONE HAS DONE THIS BEFORE? I'VE HEARD OF A FEW GUYS THAT HAVE DONE IT BUT CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE???

Problem is some of the "grippy" material is quite slippery in subfreezing and wet conditions. I'm having our upholsterer put Neoprene on mine.

Fabcraft helped me out with this because the upholstery guy gave me swatches that felt like they'd be grippy, but Mike said they aren't going to grip in our riding conditions (he knows by experience). Mike uses Neoprene on his seats and swears by it. It tears a little easier, but with the amount of miles he puts on his sleds and being an aggressive rider, his seats last several years and I'm not worried about it with the riding we do.

Skinz sells a gripper top cover for that seat. You simply put it over your existing seat cover. I realize these aren't your seat but I put up a couple of pics to give you an idea of what the gripper top looks like. If you are interested please pm me and I'll work out a price for you.

When you say it goes over the top, do you mean the entire seat is non slip material? I would also like to add some foam to the sides near the front where it goes like this )(.....Make more like the 08 and 09. Shoot me a PM with the price, interested in what they have.

All of the contact surfaces have the grippy material, the top and along the front part of the sides. If you wanted to make the seat look more like the 08 and 09 models you might be better off ordering that model cover instead of the 07 model cover.

Although in thinking about it you maybe better off going with a local upholstery shop because with adding material and customizing the seat like that you may get a better custom fit. I just don't want you to order one and then it not fit beause of the added material and be disappointed in the product.

I pm'd you with pricing anyway.
