Default Here's my project over the last 8 years...

I started with a '68 Malibu that I bought for $1500 from a friend about ten years ago.
it was rusty, full of cancer and came with a 307 and a 2 speed power-glide trans.

The only options worth mentioning were the Posi and Air Conditioning (I have removed all the a/c)

It spent over two years torn apart and at my buddy's garage where we stripped it to bare metal and off the frame.
Then I did some wheeling and dealing on running gear, steering parts from a Trans-Am, brake parts from a Camaro and Caprice.
I stuffed a 400 HP Vortec 350 in it with a Carter afb and an old Streetmaster intake to keep it "Resembling" stock.

Then we finished the body work...Very extensive replacement.
We managed to replace most damage rather than using any Bondo.

My wife and I replaced the entire interior ourselves...I'll never attempt another headliner again!

The front seats are out of a Chrysler car, I wanted leather and electric adjust ability. They're much more comfortable than stock.

We had a little flood here back in 2006 and I was stuck in town, away from home so I couldn't get here to rescue the car.
It went under water up to the headlights and valve covers... It all had to come apart again.

It's now in the shop for a new Transmission... I destroyed the first one I put in with too many hard launches and hard driving.
I don't baby this car much.
My days of climbing under the car are done, just can't do it anymore. I'll pay someone else to do the heavy work!

It comes home tomorrow and I'll FINALLY get to tear up the streets with it again.
It's been a while!

Thanks for looking.

Nice ride AR. Ive had 2 (so far), a 1965 Chevelle 300 post, rusty but was fun & cheap, & then a 1970 Chevelle. I did a few tweeks to the 65 but was 80% complete (cloning to an SS) on the 70. Miss them both but am on the look-out for another clean 65 roller to build up. Lots of memories set in stone over cars like those.

I'm building a 70 firebird from ground up. The body is done & painted. It's a 400ci, 300hp 4speed. I just hope I can remember how to put it back together. I hope I can get it running by spring. You have a nice looking ride. I hope mine turns out like yours did.
