Gotta load a used P85 that I was given. For the 04 600 what would be recomended for spring and weight combo? This would be for running about 1500' .

I agree I would like to see some set ups for these I've heard this is good swap from stock. I'll be doing the same on my 503 this fall, so if theres anyone out there whos done it on one of those i'd love to hear the details

I guess what I am looking to do is get rid of the Light Switch type throttle and add some top end speed. I run at such a high RPM just to drive around my fuel mileage sucks! Clutch set up with the P-85 conversion and what gearing are ya running. On the 600 and 503 for our fellow Hawker!!! Sure would love to see 90mph down the grade!!!

I run the p-85 and have for three years. I ride 1800 6500 ft and i put 60 gram weights in as a base with the almond blue spring. I could not pull the weight and ground my weieghts to 55.5 and it RIPS butt i like a HARD engagement and it pulls 8150 all day long. I would recomond going to a cat secondary or tighten the **** out of the spring in the stock one. If you like a softer engagement you can run a dark blue spring most polaris shops have a spring chart or i know you can find them on line to help better tune your clutch. i also run our chain drive and geared it for my style of riding ... Mountain and boon docking. Trail set up i would change the tune big time. My hawk will run in the high 90's acording to a gps mph reading across a flat lake . Hope this helps and if you have ?'s just give me a call.

Thanks IB. Thats the info I was looking for. I would like the softer engagement so I will run a lower initial spring rate! Where did you take the weight off, heal? What elevation is it happiest at? I will be pretty consitant at 1500 +/-. With hopefully a trip west but can change the set up for that!
Very little trail and lots of Yooper boondockin'. Still gotta play on the trails a bit though and it is tight and twisty around these parts. |

yes i took it off the shoulder i tried to keep as much wght on the tip as i could. Just make sure you have your secondary set stiff. I would recomend starting at 60's and tune from there like i did as a rule of thumb every 1 - 2 grams is worth 100 rpm not always just a good rule of thumb. hope this helps.
