Depends if you want a good night life or just a place to crash.

If night life is what you seek then stay in steamboat
I have only stayed at the rabbit ears motel was oK but when I was looking around town I found a couple more hotels that were a better deal and looked a little nicer. Steamboat is a Ski town so it will be a little more.

If you just want a place to crash find a place on Kremmling
I have never stayed in Kremmling other then with friends of friends So not sure what there is other then the searchs I have done.

Thats about right. Except Steamboat lodging will be super spendy.

Rode Buff Pass today. (Work related.) I was surprised at the snow on top. I dug down to dirt two places with my shovel. 30"at one, 34" at the other. Wet snow, well set up. I was only cutting 3" with my sled. There are logging operations up there, huge ruts on top. One more snow and it should start getting good.
