Indydan has said that for years. Of coarse after my Torque Master PTO end broke off after 50 miles I was skeptical of his theories.

Seriously? First I've heard of a problem with his setup.

I usually don't bring this up because 99.9% of people out there think Amsoil is the greatest thing in the world. Well acording to my engine builder/racing teamate he can't stand the stuff. He builds sleds and bikes, and says most of the time the people bring him a wrecked bottom end tell him they were using Amsoil. Other people bring him a "perfectly good" engine to get ported/built and they brag about using Amsoil...he opens it up and doesn't like what he sees.

Ran Amsnotoil a couple months, never again. Crank let go using it, and this was all before I really knew about it. IndyDan has a bunch of knowledge and knows his chit about this stuff. Oh well, some will never learn and will only believe their hype.

So many people judge an oil by how clean their exhaust valves are. Maybe that's not what we shold be looking at? I know I lost a motor while using amsoil. I will say the exhaust valves looked good though when I tore it down.

Wheres a good place to get the old school 100% dead dinosaur 2 stroke oil. The blue ****, that smells good, and has a nice blue color in the smoke. The **** I ran almost ten years ago was just Standard Polaris blue. Smelled soo fawking good when it burned!

If Amsoil's so bad, why are the others, like Legend or the Poo oil any better? And why does Amsoil do so much R/D and still come up with the same formulas? What am I missing, other than one report that is negative, after so many positive reports and reviews on Amsoil products?

I'm not totally sold on Amsoil yet, but am still trying to figure out if I should be using a high quality/expensive oil, instead of the Wal-mart cheap gallons that I've been using in my crappy sleds for years, with good luck. I finally got a decent sled that I'm willing to spend money on, but is the branded oil any better? And why?

The previous owner of my good sled (2003 Vert Edge 700 with minor mods) ran Amsoil and the sled has 2300 miles on the original engine and components, which all looks great at this point. I ripped the sled apart to check it over pre-season, and found no reason to do anything further than gaskets and cleaning, so I bought a couple quarts of Amsoil to use until I make up my mind.

I need somebody that doesn't work for an oil company to sell me on the good stuff, or else this sled will be drinking the cheap stuff. I like the thought of supporting Amsoil, as it is a local company, but somebody help me out?

Been using Amsoil for years in sleds and bikes, never had a problem. Guess I'm just lucky
