Gonna give this a try as soon as I get my good friend 777 to get me some.

my old man does - he first boils water with sea salt in it and boils the oysters for 3-4 minutes depending on size - no more than that - takes them out dries them off & puts them in a marinade/brine -for 24 hrs - before he puts them on the smoker he shakes dried red pepper flakes on them

kinda curious on this one, i've tossed mussels on the grill and steamed them open thats pretty good....little hot sauce and patron
