Just a few of my favorite ways to enjoy a peice of deer.

Only had this once but it was great for breakfast....got lucky and got a deer right away one year.

Fresh tender loins, back straps whatever you wanna call them. Cut those bad boys out, go inside and proceed to fry up a plate of bacon, then 4 or 5 eggs over easy. Make sure all the bacon bits and egg stuff is still in the pan. Now fry up the meat and enjoy!!!

Favorite for tougher deer....aka real deer not that crap that eats corn, beans and other farm food.

Mix teryaki, soy sauce and brown sugar. Now add enough lemon juice to the mix so your meat is covered. Let it sit for a day in the marinade flipping every so often. If you like add some Whiskey for flavor.

The meat really soaks up the lemon juice and gets nice and tender and has a almost sweet lemon taste to it.

Also good to do with goose or duck.

One thing we do is soak it in salt water when we clean it, takes a lot of the blood out of the meat and gives it a cleaner taste, anyone else?

X gonna have to try that marinade, sounds good!

Same here, Add salt until a egg will float off the bottom then add the meat & it draws all the blood out & the game taste with it

a long time ago I used to raid the deep freeze and pull out some deer meat...cant remember what it was but i would thaw it down, cut it almost jerky thin into strips and throw come garlic powder and celery salt on it....then I would get a pan nice and hot and just load it up with butter. id pretty much sautee it in the pan for a couple mins til it was done.

nothing fancy but it was pretty darn good eatin for a snack...get a kaiser roll and would make a good sammich too

damn you could smoke it if you use that thick a brine!!! But why take the "game" taste out? Guess I've never understood when people say meat or duck is gamey....don't know if that's cause growing up I had more game then beef or what.

Not really take all the game out of it, but all it does is take a lot of the blood out and cleans the meat up a lot. I don't put that much in it and you can't taste a salty taste when your done, just enough for the salt to pull the extra blood out of the meat.
