Default 600 to 800 swap

I bought my 600 knowing I wanted to swap the motor or do a big bore.
I think the time has come so I am looking for some input. If I do the swap what are some of the extra costs. Pipe, clutchs, electronics, and cooler or can I use some of the stuff from the 600?
Thanks for any input

If you talk about going from an 600HO to an 800HO, you can reuse your cooler, clutches, electronics, carbs and exhaust except Y-pipe. You'll need an 800 Y-Pipe.

I'm still dreaming of a fuel injected M1000 engine in mine for that massive tourque curve ! AAAAAhhhh... Hard to find at a decent price... a guy basically has to buy a wrecked sled to get one with all he needs...

I love the 600 it has a lot of power more then I use most of the time just trail riding, but in the deep pomder and mountians I want more.
I hate having to cut to someone's tracks on any little hill.
I have a chance to buy a 800ho with carbs and electronics at a good price cheeper then the big bore.

TLKD has this one right, I did the 800ho swap in my 600. You can use the stock wiring harness if you use the stator and flywheel from the 600. All timing is controled through the MPEM. You can send your MPEM into BRP and have them remap the MPEM to 800ho specs, you can even have them do a mild trail curve or have RK tech custom mapping put in it( thats what I went with). Carbs are the same, just a little jetting to change. You just need a y-pipe from a 800 rev ( not XP ). And if you don't already have a TRA or a P-85 drive clutch you'll want one.

IMHO this is a worth while swap, not only did I have a HUGE power gain but I also have increased ride time du to better fuel milage, I think it is because I dont have to ride WFO all the time now.

Weight diff is around 8 pounds i Think. And i rode Jays Hawk at artic man this year he was our camp host (BEITCH) with his wasted knee. His hawk flat out kills my 600 and my 600 is faster than Always-plyn new 800 ho Hawk. We still need a lil more tune time on it but i was pullin 8150 rpm in the mountains and going way faster than i needed to be. Snow condition was spring snow. I.E wet heavy and deep. I kept telling everybody that my lil sixer was just fine until i spent a whole three days on his 800 RKTek there is no replacment for displacment....... I will go big bore this next year unless i find a good deal on a 800 motor than thats what i will stuff in the hole. we also put the rear skid from my 503 Hawk in his I will be putting it under my Hawk for this next year i like the way it rides WAY better than the the 05 set up. And i have put the relocate kit on mine and revalved my shocks and still like the old skid the best.

Just my 2 cents.
Gary.
