Used to ride the Hayward Lakes area, too many drunks at night. I was hit once and someone tried to steal one of our club members sled (chained to tree). I like the Cable area, Iron River, Washburn, Bayfield area. Inlaws live near Durand, that is nice as well. When snow cover is good, we will ride the bluff areas along the Mississippi river.

I'm a flatlander, but spend alot of time in Wi and out west. I ride in and around St. Germain, Hurley, Bergland, Muinising, SW Michigan, ditch banging and drift busting in Il, then out to the Snowies, Rabbit Ears, Buff Pass, Vail Pass, Red & White, Tiger Road, and the Flattops.

My favorite for trail riding is in St. Germain. You can ride all day and not hit the same trail twice. There is so many choices on where to ride to - you can put 300 miles on in a day riding up and through the UP, or stick close to the cabin and put 30 miles on jumping from stop to stop. We ride with the kids and it is nice to be able and stop for some hot chocolate when they get cold. When it is adults only, we love riding up to the UP and cranking out some miles between stops.

Off trail riding - my atll time favoruite is Rabbit Ears. You can ride up there for days and still find more areas to hit. Bottomless powder, and a good trail system to guide you back to some of the riding areas. Some nice meadows right next to the Muddy Creek parking area to fine tune the sleds jetting if needed. An when the champainge power dumps, you cnat beat the over-the-hood snow that you blow through. We bring the kids up there too, and my son (now 8), who has been riding with me for 7 years now, holds on my mountain bar, stand up riding style, and sidehills right along with me. Yeah - we dont go too crazy with him on, but he knows where to put his body while riding. He wears a tec-vest to help keep everything together if we have a problem.
