the ammc race was stopped before the first lap was finished due to a head on between brad george and allan hill they were bolth flown out in helos to prov and other to ak regional.

and the trapper creek 200 was a geat race had lots of fun it was a fast and rough course

robert greaber won pro on polaris
dan thibault won semi pro on polaris
jamie hollis won womens on doo
and tom whitstien won vets on polaris

thanks to everyone that made it all possible and will see you later on in the fall as there will be a 4 or 5 race series next season

From what I understand someone removed the course markers and the two riders got lost and one was back tracking. It is really sad that people can't leave the course markers alone. In this case, who ever removed them caused a very serious accident. Hope for a speedy recover for both riders.

I considered going entering that race but I've not been impressed with the organization of the AMMC races. Last one I did was the '09 I-150 and it also was missing course markers 5 miles into the 50 mile lap and we got lost. That race only had two or three check points and lots of direction changes and unmanned intersections. I've race one K-200 and two I-150's and in all of them they tell us at the racer's meeting how the course is not closed and to be on the look out for trail riders and kids on 120's.

That is not safe way to run a race for either the racers or the general public. I appreciate that the AMMC puts on XC races, but they could be organized a whole lot better. I heard that the Talkeetna race was going to be a good event and it sounds like it went well. I'll have to plan for it for next season.

I hope the two racers heal quickly and do not suffer any permanent injuries.
