rmk

rocky mountain king not sure on trank lug highth but it's a softer and bigger lug then the sks

also the rmk should have a better gear ratio then the sks and probably better shocks all around also

Sled is supposed to have a 2" 144 track....It would mainly be a backup sled........That's not what the wife thinks tho.....

Default Cool

There is another one.. ronnies or something. They got the micro fisch online. You can find every part and the assembly of all polaris from the 90's and up.

Pretty sure the difference is in the gearing. Track lengths varies in all models. SKS was more geared to a shorter lug height as a crossover sled. RMK was geared lower with a deep lug for pow and climbing. Engines were the same. Obviously the clutching was slightly different due to gearing changes. I don't know the specs but if you want to know about the edge RMK I have some good setups that work.

Sounds like it was extended to 144 as they were 136 stock. also the sks has a heavier coupled skid vs the Xtra Lite uncoupled in the RMK, ski stance is wider on the SKS as well. Shock package was the same pretty much but the lengths are different. Also the RMK's had altitude compensating carbs whereas the SKS did not. RMK had Mikuni flat slides where the SKS had the keihen D slides.

Default Yep...

I think you pretty much nailed it. Although I think you could get a 144' x 1.25 track. Not sure 100 %. One of my buds had one close to that year and I am sure it was a 144. Could be wrong. Have a look at the back of the rails, maybe there is an extention kit on it. That would tell the tale. I forgot about the kehin carbs. The mikuniis were preferable. Kehins were good, but a lot more ppl knew something about mikuni. Mikuni and kehin jets were different and the numbers were different so if you asked hey what r u running I couldn't even help you or lend you a jet.

Sounds like these guys nailed it for ya. I owned a 2001 700 RMK....I loved it. I wish I would have kept it. I also put a 144 in track on it. It turned the 144 with ease....made a huge difference in the hills.

Might be going to take look at the sled tomorrow, and possibly go in halves on it with my buddy, and just have it for a backup. I'll have to look at it close to see what it really is.
