Can you guys give me a little advice on witch is the better way to go? Is the stock setup really that bad "trenching"??? Is the float that much better?? OR just the weight loss? OR is the timbersled the way to go? THe sled is new to me! Its an 07 M8 162. I just installed floats on the front and did the powerclaw track with a 2-wheel kit.
Any help would be great! |

i have never rode a sled with the timbersled so i cant help you there but i can tell you i like the float skid alot better than my 06 stock skid, does not trench as bad to me and seems to ride better over all. JMO

The timbersled is sweet and by far the best of what you mentioned, but it will set you back about $1500. The float works as well but depending on your size you might want the shocks revalved. I rode the stock skid for a couple years and I never really thought it was that bad. It will beat you to death on the trail but off the trail I never had many issues. You might be better off riding it this year since you haven't tried it yet, then go from there. play with the shocks a little and I think you will find it manageable. Unless you have a buddy that is giving away the float conversion, I would hold out and buy the timbersled.

trails pound the hell outta you, no xfer in the climb, but your front will stay down no matter what. I'd like to timbersled my sled, but this one is going down the road soon or to my wife (may need to timbersled for her too though) |

you could go with the float conversion, then replace the floats with Zbroz shocks. HUGE improvement

i just put the timbersled rear in my 141....and actually i am impressed with the quality especially with their new upgrades...and their support is great....and the weight savings is awesome...i just have to play abit to find my right pressure settings..their is alot of options out there so take your time and talk to them all...but im happy with my decision

06 M7. I got tired of messing with the floats, so I installed front arm relocator, found a set of remote rez shocks off of a factory mod sno pro, used F A-arms/spindles and put it all together. Now I have a 162" bump sled that still works great in the deep.
I don't have the extra cash for the high dollar light weight aftermarket stuff, really I think the stock skid werx good, ya just need to tune it right.
