I have been working in Big Sky. Blows my mind there is more snow in Bozo than in the hills. That whole Portal Creek closure makes me ill everytime I drive by. There goes some really great back country ridding.

I talked to someone that rode buck yesterday and he said it was fair. A couple feet of decent some and about a foot of sugar snow under that. He said everything on both sides of burndown ridge is covered and rideable. The fields before the ridge are sketchy with lots of landmines. It sounds like it slowly getting there but still has a ways to go.

What does the snotel need to be to at least get out at Taylors? I'm guessing 45?

by get out, what are you meaning? as in get in via the trail? You should be fine now...I am heading in there over Chrstmas break...Look at the SNotel sight, and the Sunlight Basin location...it shoudl show you...it got 6" last night...and more snow on its way...

Had a great first day out riding yesterday, had a few oh crap things are broke moments...but the days tally for carnage was not too terrible considering early season snow...

Carnage total: Lower A-Arm on Nytro, Rox Riser got sheared in half, Trailing Arm on CMX, steering post on CMX, good number of trees...

Here are a few pics (all in Buck Creek area)
