Had a great ride yesterday in the Lakes Basin area - blue skies, very warm temps, and a foot of fresh snow made for a great day and over 35 miles of boondockin! Hoping for more snow this week... Hit too many rocks!

Oops - sorry I missed your reply! Lakes Basin is North of Truckee near Graeagle, CA - there are tons and tons of lakes, chutes, bowls, and anything else to challenge any rider. My dad has been riding up there since the 60's, got me into snowmobiling. Something new there everytime you go up!
Went up yesterday - great snow, now covers most of the rocks and you can get up most of the chutes and climbs. Looking forward to more snow tonight!!! |

Great area to ride in - we're in the same boat... Want to go other places, but finances are preventing it at the moment... Maybe one day we'll all have to meet up and show off our playgrounds ;-)

Ok, I'm a little slow, but here's some video from this ride in case you're interested :-) Always fun to watch stuff from winter when spring's here! ;-)

It's great terrain - anything you could possibly want to hit is around here, from huge long steep chutes to little hills to practice on to boondockin in trees and sidehills... Hard on beginners, but lots of fun if you're willing to try it out and it will test even the best riders in spots!
I have another video I'm workin on from our ride Saturday... Little slow on the roll, but I'll get it up eventually! |
