Exclamation Oil

So i went for a 30 mile ride today after i finally have my sled back and running again. But when we get back at the truck i check my oil and its all the way down to the return line on the bottle. So are your sleds going through this much oil? it is an 05 900 and our 06 900 doesnt go through even close to that much. We use polaris gold synthetic and its way expensive so am i runnign way rich or is this normal? thanks for your help

No, that's not normal.

Generally when this happens, it's due to the connecting cable between the throttle body and the oil pump. This cable frays, then breaks and sticks holding the oil pump wide open.

Best fix is to get in contact with FatBoyzFrenchy and get one of his throttle/oil cables. When you're installing that, make sure the tick marks on the oil pump line up. Should be good to go after that.

I'd find a new dealer....

... but that's just me...

that oil thing is one of the top problems with the 900s in stock form.

Check the oiler cable, I now keep one in stock (FatboyzFrenchie) when the stock short cable between the throttle body and oil pump breaks, the oiler can go W.O

The factory oiler cable WILL break.

However, my 06 with FBF cable on a hard 40-50 mile ride, when topped off (every ride btw) the oil level will go down to the water pump cavilty oil feed line. I set my oiler adjuster a little high though.
