Default WATERCRAFT/BIG BORE Thread

Ya I know turbos are all the rage but I thought I'd start this thread for all the 2 stroke torque junkies. It doesn't matter, 1200 triple, 860 twin, 770 twin, whatever. Share your setups, tuning info, and general 2 stoke knowledge.

Last year was my first year with the motor and it ran pretty good. I had some trouble maintaining RPMs so I'll work on that. Also this year I'm riding at 3-6K so I'm going to fatten her up some.

See I try and start something helpful and you GAY it up already. LOL

Your stock sleds always run well. We'll have to see if I can keep up with the stocker's this season. Last season I didn't do so well.

Great info, thanks for sharing. I've got an ET 770 I'll have to dig out the setup I'm running and post it.

ET 770, 14.5/1 head, art machined a stock '97 head, I run 25% av, PSI end dump twins, 41.5 mm mikunis 380 mag 370 pto fuel screw 1.5 turns .7 air jet, use the '04 needles 9DGN6-57 #3, 3000 to 6000', almond round primary 10/59.2 weights, polaris button secondary siver/blue with R8 helix pulls approx 8300 rpm 19/42 gears with 159x2.4 polaris series 4 track. It's a fun sled but it's to heavy and rides like a gravel truck, just something I enjoy tinkering with. Also should say this is a '98 700 RMK.

Default 420 lb polaris 990 mod

Well, I just sold this rig. Bought it new in 02. Polaris RMK 700. Switched to a 800 PSI big bore c/w twin pipes. Since then:

Ti driveshaft
Chromoly jackshaft
Drilled brake rotor
Carbon fiber trailing arms
Mountain Addiction Rear skid c/w 151 x 2 1/8 mountain track
My custom tunnel and boards
Fiberglass lightweight hood from mountain mod (I frenched in a small halogen light on a rca plug for power)
Mountain Mod lightweight seat
clear tank
simmons skiis
Chopped ski stance
990 genesis 200 + hp
Custom CPI twin pipes
Clutching and gearing.... boxes of trial and errors... lol
Tried different carbs... Mikkuni's still simple and easy to get parts for!!!
No oil injection. mix only and run AV gas 100+ octane
Lightweight alum bars c/w wilwood brake master and billet throttle... wires all run in bars!!!
My modded gas rack c/w led lighting
Racepack

I'm sure there is some stuff missing... still it was a coo ride. My bud just bought it... he is in love.....

Still got the old 800 big bore. It needs a home since I now run a 1 ton turbo nytro....

I dont have my Mod Sled together yet! I still need to fab up my tunnel and all. Boss seat, clear gas tank, using 159" rails with a 162"x15"x 2.25" track for it. The sled started off as a 2005 RMK.

As for engines..... I love triples myself. My 700MM got me started on Triples and loved them ever since!

For the Mod sled, I have PSI Genesis III 1000cc (Based off the Polaris 800), with Crank Shop pipes, 38mm Carbs (for now). I have to put the engine together still. It should be 200+ HP or so I have been told. More later...
