I picked up a 98 XC 700. Would like to put a bigger lugged track on it. What will fit? 1.25 or even 1.5 inch? I don't have the sled in my possession yet but can anyone tell me if it will need to be a notched track for the cooling units?
Thanks |

You'll be able to fit a 1.5 without any modification at all. You can go 2" by going to 8 tooth drivers over the factory 9 tooth.

Thanks! Just planning on riding it around home in the flatlands so maybe 1.25will be enough. Hoping to pick up a used one for around $100.

1.25 is no problem at all, I put a studded 1.25 on my buddy's 98 700 and didn't have any problems at all.

i put a 1.5" ripsaw on my 99 xc 600.. had to notch it for the cooling tubes in the tunnel.
was alot of work, but worth it... did well for a 121 in the mountains in the powder

Allright. Thanks. I found a 1.5 on ebay that I might bid on. Would have to notch for the coolers but can get a tire cype so that might speed things up.

(about 1 1/2 hour). make a guide to follow so it is uniform, for me a piece of metal sheetrock corner bead worked perfect. Good luck, Clint
