So when would a guy reasonably expect to need to rebuild an 800 engine? I was looking at an 08 that has 2200 miles on it. I have no idea of the history of the sled. The price seems fair at 4800.00 with a big wheel kit,SLP can and some other billet parts. I'm just not feeling like tearing into anything this year ya know? Thanks for any input!!

Geez, I would think a guy ought to get at least twice that before it's wore out, considering it's a stocker.

i had 38XX on my 07 M8 before i tore into it.. didnt need it at all but had a broken leg and nothin to do!!
 sent it all out to swain tech to be coated.. now good to go for another 4k

I've been there with a few broken body parts myself ,and nuthin' better to do. Right on.. I may have to take a more serious look at this then. It just seemed like ALOT of miles in a year. I don't know alot of buddies that log that in one year myself,ya know?? I appreciatte all the input!!

Unless you know for a fact, he probably has two years on it. Prolly bought it fall of 07.

Check the compression, and take it for a ride listen to the diamond drive and if he hasn't changed the oil much i would get him to drain it and take a look at the oil in there. It may have a bit of a whine most do but if it sounds like gear noise check it forsure, otherwise they are a great sled.
