Default Home made vents

Well since I blew out my knee and season is done its time to tinker with sleds.

I have built vents in the past but found a new way to make templates a whole lot easier. Less guess work and cut and trim, cut and trim, cut and trim..... etc.

Take your panel off and mask off the whole area where you want the vent.

Use black tape to layout what will be the vent frame. Tape is perfect 3/4" wide and curves and bends nicely.

Trim off excess tape to leave just the vent template

Peel off the tape template and transfer it to some poster board

Trim it out and cut out the center vent holes P.S...... Bud Light ensures you cut nice and strait

And just like that you have identical right and left vents by just reversing the pattern.

Ordered the plastic frame material from flea-bay and going to use some pet screen on both and clutch side will also have SLP powder pre-filter fabric on it. Will update as I cut the frames and screen.

Total cost for 2 sets of vents will be roughly $30.00 vs $80 each for aftermarket...... more Bud Light $$

Just type in "1/16" ABS Plastic" and there are countless size options. I usually just order 12"x24" sheets.

What do you use to attach the vent fabric to the frames?

Stuff works awesome since it is still flexible and rubbery like. Just a thin layer on the plastic.
