Default Zerks won't take grease?

None of these three zerks will take any grease. Used the air gun last year and never saw any squeeze out. Thought it odd but didn't worry too much being as last year sucked. Went to grease tonight and used the hand pump, won't take any. Anyone else see this? Pulled off one of them last year and it would pass right through so doubt it's bad new zerks.

Pull the zerk out, smash it into your grease gun, and see if you can smoosh grease through that.

I'm assuming your grease gun's got a full-ish stick of grease in it, and it's functioning properly otherwise...

the flex arm on the suspension wont take any, that's normal. they say its a sealed unit I'm not sure why they put a zerk.
the bearings are hard at first, mine always wont take any at first then as the pressure builds it suddenly goes. make sure your gun tip locks on the zerk on its own really well. don't overgrease the bearings..

Good info! The bearings won't take any. Tip is on good, go to push handle and it's rock hard. Weird.

Mule, gun is good or it wouldn't grease all of the rest of the zerks. And yes, I did pull off one last year (flex arm) and shot a load through it.

Blitz, both guns are of decent quality.

yes mine will be rock hard at and then suddenly go. the first few times on multiple kits I thought oh no not gonna take grease then all of a sudden it went. Maybe try warming up the bearing housing around the zerk gently (dont get it too hot, just warm, dont melt the seals either) to soften the grease that is in there

I wouldn't worry about it too much, TS recommends not pumping any grease into the zerks on a new kit anyway (they come greased up and ready to roll is what I'm told). Once a year pump some grease in and call it good... if you didn't ride much last year I'd just moto on.

Well, I guess I'll whip out my tool and giver another shot at taking a load. Might just have to pump harder. Thanks for the info!

Tomk, not sure what you mean???
