Years ago I had a clear Lexan hood made by the McCurdy brothers but it wasn't UV treated so it got brittle and destroyed in one season. It was awesome looking though seeing the secondary whirling away.

Default $220 plus shipping

Not carbon fiber.
Will have to look into the UV protection.

UV treatment or resistance is critical with lexan or equivalent. Clear hood was so cool and I'd do it again if it didn't break up so fast.

Default Polycarbonate UV treated

Don't know what your other clear hood was but this one is UV treated.

Could one use the lexan hood as a mold for making carbon fibre hoods?

Do it!

Anybody want one of these hoods? I bought 3, but the stock light can't be installed in them, so they aren't much use to me.

$225 each
