I'm especially interested to hear from the ladies on this one...what's your favorite riding gear? Why?

Yeah, heard that before about their gloves. I just got a pair of Kombi that I hope will work a lot better this year. Oh and new grip warmers are on the way too...

I have to be Thrifty mom when it comes to gear. I've found a pair of snowboarding pants that work well, they're completely waterproof, lots of vents, a nice gator that snaps down at the bottom of my snowboarding boots to prevent holes in my seat. My Jacket is a snowboarding one too, special blend. I got it for 40 percent off because it was last years model. Love this Jacket! It has vents and pockets out the wazzoo and has a snow skirt. I have a one piece Helley hansen suit, (love that thing) Helley wicking socks, and Helly thermal wear for under my one piece if it's really really cold. I also have a Helly balaclava for super cold days.
This gear seems to work well for me, and I did it all on a modest budget.

It's designed for down hill bicycle racing. I figure if they can hit trees and rocks at speed, then I can hit snow with it. I don't even take it off to dig out its so light. the G-outs at the bottom of the hills or hard landings also don't put my head in the console!
