Default Eazy's rebuild help thread.

Just like it says, rebuilding the beast, pulled the whole engine and she's sitting on my sled deck. First queston, do you have to pull the flywheel in order to split the case? i cant rotate the crank by hand, it goes like half way around then stops... I looked between the crank and the case (or bearing, whatever) and i can see little metal chunks, hoping its just from the topend and nothing serious, just metal stopping it from turning. I'll throw up some pics of my progress, after i got the jugs off, only took me about 45 mins until the engine was out. Someone told me i should drain all my oil because pieces of metal can get back threw and dump into my oil tank? Anywho, check back often!!!

Oh ya, went riding today and my dad snap this pic of me on his sled...

shhhhhhhhhhhh don't be messing with my boy Garret !!

good job bud didn't take you too long after all.

this is where it could get tricky you need a special tool to pull the mag assembly off , don't mess with the trigger leave it in place ...makes for a few less steps in the end .

see if you can get one to use from somebody ' other wise if you have access to a torch and a drill you can make one pretty easy

basically it prevents your crank from spinning when you take the large nut off of the flywheel /mag side
I'll take a pic of mine if I can find it , don't worry about your oil pump and lines we are gonna delete that thing all together and run premix

here is an example of what the tool that I spoke of should look like ..

I just drew this up on paint fer ya

the big hole has to be big enough to fit over the Mag nut and then the other three line up with the allen head bolts ..remove them put tool on so that the pointy end fits into the side of the cases and locks ..replace the bolts and then with a socket and snipe you will be able to spin that nut off ..

Split the case... Hand full of metal shards, somehow the nearest PTO bearing came apart, 3 of the balls in the bearing fell on the rug when i split it...

Metal pieces, looks like the bearing cage...

You can see the ball bearings next to the crank.
