Default Cain's Quest: racers are on the snow

I love the long distance rally's like Dakar and follow it each year. I just found out there is a long distance snow rally, Cain's Quest. The race is cross country and covers 3300 KMs of some serious terrain. I am following Team 7, SnoXcapes. Racers compete in teams of two and carry a load of required safety gear and supplies, for the off chance of some impromptu camping.

Check out their progress on the tracking map:

You just missed following our iron dog race here in Alaska. 2200 miles of remote cross country racing. If you like Dakar, you'll love the iron dog! Google it.

Cool stuff on the Iron Dog.

Cains Quest wrapped up and Team 7 just pulled off 3rd place finish, after a challenging and weather altered race course. Crazy action, with a course protest on stage 3, swapped up the names on the leaderboard.

Most of the teams dropped out for mechanical or medical reasons. 9 of 29 teams finished.
