Well Detroit's 8v92ta is a supercharged and turbocharged 2 stroke diesel engine. It can be done and work great but if your referring to a sled I'm not sure if it would be worth it. Mainly the supercharger builds boost from idle and when the turbo reaches a certain psi it pushes open a bypass and only uses the turbo pressure on most applications. For the weight gained it might not be worth it unless it was just a race sled.

I don't see the point in building this or know what application this would be used for.

2 stroke Detroit diesels even with a supercharger are considered naturally aspirated. They wont run without the blower.

Yes they will but not worth a crap, actually they will even run backwards. In the DD application, the blower is to get a cylinder full of fresh air. The blower pushes the exhaust out and fresh air into for the next power cycle. Doing a blower/turbo on a sled would be a complete waste. It takes hp to drive the blower, and if you want more, just wind up the boost.

Yea they are a weird engine, lug them too hard and they can stop and start running backwards too.

But there would be no point to a blower and a turbo on a sled. unless you just have to have it. How much boost are you really hoping to make that you would need both a blower and turbo to get it?
