The nitro engine is like almost 30 pounds lighter than the M1100 suziki engine. The geometry of the way it's mounted in the "viper" chassi is also much different. The turbo on the nitro would also mount on the right side replacing the big factory suitcase (like a two stroke) and not in the front of the machine like on the M11.

The Viper feels like a completely different sled than the M1100 Turbo. Mainly because besides looks, it is a lot different. The viper feels like an 800 compared tot the M11. Now, I have no seat time on the viper but this is what a lot of respected riders that aren't paid to say anything are currently saying. I wouldn't write this thing off quite yet guys. . .

2 grand boosted from the factory with the option of making the same HP as a stock M11? Not bad. But look at the aftermarket for this thing.... 6 grand and you have a 280 HP machine that feels nothing like it's brother the M11.

I'll need seat time before I can really talk about how much different it is. But the changed geometry of everything under the hood and the lighter engine does make some sense.

I bought one, 240 reliable hp and 600 lbs. rtr. For my style of riding it doesn't get any better....ok maybe if I do the 270 kit it would be better.

Since Chrissy threw me off the other site for speaking truth about this sled, I guess I will try here...

I have ridden and ridden with a '14 M8000. I can't get that sled to be as predictable in the trees as the Pro, adding 50 lbs is not going to help. At the end of the day, no amount of geometry can change the additional dead wieght you are hauling around. I can feel a BIG difference in my stamina coming off M-cats and onto the Pro, no comparison. I am MUCH less tired after a day on the Pro than I am on a new Cat, older Cat, XM or any other sled I have ridden for that matter. The Pro chassis simply shames the rest in my experience.

I think it really depends on how and where you ride as to what is the best choice. Given wide open treeless expanses like the Alaska picture, the T4S machine probably really does shine. In the tight technical trees I have been riding on the Pro I suspect the 100 lb heavier machine with the trail/mtn chassis just isn't going to cut it. Of course you could go further yet and go snowbike, less power, less weight yet but not specialized enough quite yet for various terrains, and not powerful enough at altitude to climb like a sled. I like the progress in the 4 strokes but they are still way to heavy, heck the M8000 feels way to heavy compared to the Pro IMO.

When they get the T4S down to ~500 lbs rtr with 200+ hp for the price of an 800 cc machine, then I am on board. Truth is, even the basic 180hp turbo kit makes the Viper thousands more than a stock 800 so it isn't an apples to apples comparison to begin with, adding more power costs more yet.

Then, looking at used Yamaha turbos, they do blow up motors, just like 2 strokes but MUCH more expensive to rebuild or replace. In addition, I can't make a sled chassis last more than about 4-5 years anyway so what good would a 10 yr motor be?

Worth a look? Sure, I have been looking. Not quite there yet for my favored type of riding.

Did you really have to post that picture ? Your killing me , you know I'd have that area tore up before you'd even get your helmet back on .

I'm gonna have to give you a hard time and say not every body is concerned about how their feeling at the end of the day . Work hard and play harder and if you can't keep up with the big dogs go lay down on the porch

To each their own of course but I do have to say that they did level the playing field with what they did and they did it with a proven skid and engine .

Yammy has a four stroke , Cat has a four stroke , Doo has multiple four strokes and Poo .........

Well you wrote here Red Mtn and no one has thrown you out of here... Did Chrissy get his feelers hurt because he rides one?? I was a die hard yammi guy for years until I switched to the M series I got tired of trying to keep up with the Jones on HP and went back to tree riding Stock and having a blast and not trying to get the pig unstuck all day.. Just my 2 cents the new model might be way better but I think you still have to take the weight into consideration. To each there own it is like driving a GM, Ford or Dodge...

Yeah, I read about what a stud rider you are ( in your own words ) all the time. BRING IT! I would LOVE to see you try to keep up on a Hawk or a snowbike or a Viper. I have a buddy who bought a couple of bikes this fall, can't wait to see how awesome they are... I've never seen a Hawk, a snowbike and only one yammi turbo ever ride where we ride. Nobody ever comes back, scared I guess...

Back to the Viper... worst of the three mountain chassis for handling and heaviest by a long way. I am having a lot of trouble figuring out how any of that is progress. Cat can't hardly sell that crap mtn chassis of theirs, so add 50+ lbs and take out 25 hp compared to the 8000.... yep, sure that is going to shine based on the motor and the skid, seriously? That is the argument for it?

That is why I am back Boost! That clown likes to protect his yammi buddies too. I wont even go into it because you of all people know exactly what it is like dealing with that prick.

I'm also stock, tree riding and having a blast. I understand the Yammi has a place in the big scheme, four stroke turbo power is impressive but the wieght, no matter how well carried, is still there and a liability. Over on SW they want to lie to each other and play up the yamacat. Then they tell me I "just don't know" because I haven't ridden one. That is really funny because it is a 2015 sled right? Only a handful have seen snow and most of the fanboys wanting to debate have never ridden one either.

Ring me back when the weight comes down along with the price.

You need to read more closely. Mr Hawkman said he would smoke me in the trees. I just stated that I would like to see that because, you know, lots of people talk real big, few deliver.

I like that , Mr.Hawkman

Dude I didn't mean to insult you , I sure wouldn't have put the smiley face up .

Here's an insult , Yamaha has leveled the playing field with a proven skid and engine .More than I can say for what your riding , a disposable economy crashing country down the old flusher out of warranty worthless machine .

You couldn't even follow me because you can't even fit it threw the trees it can go threw , not to mention what the he!! are you doing leaning off to the sides ? Looking like some spastic monkey flip flopping .

To bad it isn't only a couple of hundred miles instead of a couple of thousand to do a little tree riding , eating crow isn't so bad .
