Why I like to turn it on search as people come out of the trailer and see if picks em up. Also do the group checks on a regular basis. Wish we could start getting the signs up there that you ride up to and it goes green if you're transmitting.

Slim checks our whole group in the parking lot. You'd be amazed how many people forget to turn them on.

Send it in for repair and they might offer you one at cost. Garmin does this with their Rino radios.

This is what you get once you're inside.
How good are you with electronics?

how have you been able to open the Chassis?...
May battery terminals have also broken and i tried to sold them...should been fixed.
now the Transmitter works sometimes, and sometimes it does not power on....

But the function of the transmitter is still there, if it is power on...

i noticed that when i knock the transmitter it will sometimes power on...could there also be a loose connection somewhere inside?

I would like to have a look inside...
is there a way to open the chassis without breaking some pins or plastic??
Have you fixed your troubles??

Thanks a lot from the alps...

johann

I may not be worth much, but I AM worth a hell of a lot more than $250 to my family. Send it to BCA, buy a new one or stay the hell off the mountain.

Send it back to BCA.
Serial number's on a sticker in the battery compartment. First two numbers are the year of manufacture - and the beacons come with a 5 year warranty.
Even if it's out of warranty, you can "trade up" for less than the cost of a new beacon.

The beacon housing is ultrasonically welded together. They do NOT come apart without some force, and they will not go back together afterwards.

This. Very much this.
I upgraded to the T2 from the DTS. DTS still works. It's my spare, goes in the truck when I go riding. Someone forgets theirs? Here, take my T2, I've got a spare.
