Can you use a 07 gauge in an 08?

I have a hood that came off a 07 M8 and want to put it on my 08 M1000. That would give me too set-up's. One for the cold part of winter and one with vents all over it for spring ridding. I don't want to have to change out the gauge every time I ride. Just wondering if it would work. Thanks

I have no experience running the different gauges, my guess would be yes it will work, at least the tach and speedo should work. I just haven't done it to be able to say for sure it will.

I'd just try it and let everyone know how it worked out...

One question........Could it cause damage? blow a circuit or something?

I guess anything is possible but I doubt it would cause problems like that, both years run on the DC converted system.

Trial and error sometimes back fires, I wish I knew so I could guarantee you one way or the other but I just don't know...
