Was out riding in west today. Great snow no bottom, can't walk on it. Sugar snow. Its dumping now! I can update all week. Rode lionshead area.

Looking worse for the next two days, more snow in the update but looks like more wind also

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 6000 FEET REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST THURSDAY.

* TIMING AND MAIN IMPACT: WIDESPREAD SNOW... HEAVY AT TIMES... WILL COMBINE WITH STRONG WINDS AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS TO CREATE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND PASSES OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 FEET ARE EXPECTED IN THE MOUNTAINS. HIGHER SOUTHWEST VALLEYS... INCLUDING THE WEST YELLOWSTONE AREA... COULD SEE 8 TO 15 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY: STRONG WINDS IN THE MOUNTAINS WILL CAUSE BLOWING SNOW WITH VISIBILITY REDUCED BELOW ONE QUARTER OF A MILE AT TIMES.

Winter weather advisory in effect from 5 am to 11 pm mst saturday above 6000 feet,
The NWS in pocatello has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow, which is in effect from 5 am to 11 pm mst Saturday.
Timing, snow will begin to fall early Saturday morning. Strong winds will develop Saturday morning and persist through Saturday evening.
Main impact, 2 to 6 inches of snow along with significant blowing and drifting snow is possible from 30 to 40 mph wind gusts. Travel across mountain passes could be difficult.
Locations include, island park, wayan, pine creek pass, teton pass, emigration pass, mountain passes along highway 30.
Precautionary/preparedness actions,
A winter weather advisory for blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow around. Use caution when traveling, especially in open areas.
