i know some guys have main line that are over 2 miles gravity back to the releasers ,, we are in a valley drainage , so we have to have the pumphouses , at the lowest points , our main after it is released into tanks is pumped close to 1 mile up to the tank house ,, the operation is all on his land 542 acres , i'll get more pics but we are about 3 weeks behind so it's kinda busy , we are gonna boil sat morning , so i'll get more pics

hmm interesting. i would love to spend a couple days there. do you drill new holes in the trees every yr or use the same ones?

Ant ,,, there are some huge operations up in Maine , out on the Golden road , Dole pond area , i beleive there are 2 that are over 300,000 taps , we wholesale our whole crop , we sell it by the pound ,, which on average is around $30.00 a gallon

No and yes 777 , we have a huge maple research group , attached to a local university , and they have proven it does not effect the trees ,, if you over tap a tree it will , like putting 3 taps in a 10" tree , but if u only put 1 tap in a 10" tree the tree will live long and grow

Do you think it produces more sap just because it's not getting all it's using? Like would a tapped tree make more than an untapped tree1? I guess it's pretty hard to know huh?

around here the sap runs out of the tree if its tapped or not in the spring
