Default Snow conditions in SD?

Has anybody been down to SD lately, or are you planning to go in the near future? I was wondering what the snow conditions were like down in the Black Hills? Thanks

I haven't been up there as of late. Heard the snow is pretty good around the trailshead area.. Will probably be up this weekend and fill people in on whats happening up there on the ways of snow condition.

There is a little storm to the west of the hills now, that could possibly bring in a little fresh also.

we arrived today and rode for a few hours this afternoon, north of trailshead towards spearfish canyon was light good snow west and south of trailshead in the trees, not much of anything for a base there is objects to be hit, more of your crawling type creeping carviing style riding,if you wanna get stuck come on out!

Pretty thin up there, there are some pockets with 3-5ft of sugar, but they are few and far between. basically zero base still.

lots and lots of landmines

where did you ride?(PM me if you want to keep it quiet lol)did you make it down by moon?we heard good reports but didnt venture it on our last day!they need more for sure i was happy to go to get another ride in, a close cheap run for me granted its not mountains but it was plenty fine,we found alot of untracked and very minimal tracked areas, alot of highways going to places and then its like they just turn around when it gets good, agreed on the landmines but most are fairly visible ahead of time your able to avoid them,in the trees it got tricky tho,if they dont get anymore snow anytime soon it may be a bust, and the forcast doesnt look to positive for anytime soon!i wouldnt go back unless they pick up a good storm which hopefully happens soon

still a great run no regrets at all!
