Default M-series Diamond Drive service

Does everybody use the factory Cat ACT oil for the Diamond Drive? I am servicing mine this weekend & was wondering if there are better alternatives. Also, I just black rtv seal it back together. I have heard there is a gasket that you can get now, but I question that. Being I remove the drive & dis-assemble it for inspection & cleaning, & then reassemble it & add the 3 oz of fluid.

The gasket kit comes with the gasket and two spacers you need to install along with the cat DD oil for ~$30. I was going to put the gasket in mine but the RTV still isn't leaking and i strained my fluid as i drained it and it looked brand new (only 250mi on sled) so i just re-filled it. Can't speak to the durability of the gasket but pretty sure its supposed to be re-usable....look for brass in your old fluid...

I'm kindof a do-it-yourself and learn about your shat guy...is there a good outline of what I need to do to inspect/clean/service my DD? been looking for an electronic manual that somebody has or whatnot -- bought my sled used, have no manual for it.

I remove the drive completely. Break it open & clean it with Carb cleaner, blow it out with an air compressor, let it dry, reseal it, let it dry, fill it w/ the 3 oz fluid, & rotate it from side to side standing up to check for leaks. I then re-install it. I usually let it set-up a day or so inside (warm) to see if it has any leaks before I put it back in.
