Default 99 RMK 700 Idle adjustment

Total noob question for you all, my idle is at like 3500rpm, seems a little high as my 89 polaris/skidoo 670 is right around 1100rpm. So how do I adjust it down? and also how often do i need to sync the carbs?

Thanks
Chris

sync your carbs once a year should be good..if your round slide your idle screw should be on side of carb resting on slope/cut of slide

Agree with M8magic, but they have the d slide kehins. It should be similar. I believe the air screws have black knobs on them.

All good calls above, but one question. Did it idle o.k. before you put it away? Could have a cracked intake boot over the summer, sucking air thus causing a high idle......not to scare ya but Just a thought?

Should be in the 16-1800 rpm range at idle. Like others have said, check the carb boots and crank seals. What elevation did the sled come from?

Well I went out and cranked it up before work, idle'd at 3k, sprayed the carbs and boots with some carb clean and didnt get any change in rpm so I am guessing those are good.
It came from eastern wa so pretty much same elevation. How can I check the crack seals?

Thanks
Chris
