Default steerable ski dollies ....a three beer build :)

looking through some sled parts boxes I noticed Ive collected quite a few bogey wheels from various sleds ...which got me thinking about building some steerable wheels for under the skis of the sled.

First thing is first ...crack open a beer and gather the parts...
- 1''x 2'' stock 16'' long ...cut in half
- 4 x bogey wheels all the same size
- 4 x 3/4 bolts 2'' long
- 8 x 3/4 nuts

finish 1st beer , crack the second

notch out the 1x2 using a grinder with a cutting wheel...I left 1/2''of material to weld the bolt to the notched 1x2

clean up the notched peices with a grinder....sip some beer after both are done

next ,weld the bolts onto the remaining material of the 1x2

while waiting for the now welded dollies to cool , sip some beer

after everthing is cool enough to work with , run a nut onto the welded bolt(axel) for a spacer. You could cut some spacers from round stock if that is available

place the bogey wheels on the 3/4 bolts and secure with 3/4 nuts. I used a dab of blue locktight to ensure the wheels wouldnt fall off.

finish second beer

place newly completed assembly under each ski

crack open third beer and admire your work

cheers!

*please note other beverages could be substituted instead of beer
