Default 16" wide on a 03 Mxzx 440 chassis what do I need to do?

Looking for a little help here, I'm looking for a 144 for a 800 mod in a 03 440 chassis. Has anyone put a 16 wide in that chassis? What needs to be done to accommodate that track. I haven't measured clearance on a 2 inch track, but since they run 1.75 from the factory I'm guessing that isn't a problem. My biggest concern is what do I need to do for the drivers and the rails to line up. Thanks!

I would say find out what the current track length is and the track pitch (driver sizes) for your current sled. If you find that out we can help you figure out what you need, if they are stock yet, you might be able to call tracksUSA or Avid drivers for their help, but generally you are looking at the main components: Track height, track length, track pitch. From those we can decide if you need a drop and roll, different drivers, rail extensions, etc.

This is what I know so far on the sled. It's a factory mod sled so it's the 121x15x1 3/4 2.52 pitch on it right now. I've already picked up MMP extensions to work with my rails and factory axle with 8 avid composite wheels, with a VE tunnel ext on the way. I know it will fit the 2 inch track without a d&r. My biggest concern is whether or not the 16 inch wide track will work with the skid that is in there. It doesn't matter to me whether or not I put a 15 or 16 wide in it, but the 16 in would be nice for the flotation. This is a "rat sled" project so I'm trying to get by as cheap as possible.

Thanks junkie. I'm on the search for another track again. The guy who was advertising the track decided to ask me $50 more than he was advertising it for and without the drivers he said he would throw in.

Dang, I just remembered.
I think I had to relocate my rear suspension brackets.
I may have just drilled a hole farther back in the mount tho.
Toooooo long ago, cant remember exactly.

I put a 150x16x2.5 in my (my sons) '01 zx summit. for a 16 wide you can either get the REV chaincase bolts or grind the heads down 1/2 way. You might have to grind down some rivits here and there too. You should be able to get a REV take off track (144x16) with the 2.52 pitch and not have to change drivers.

CTC between the rails is the same on a 15" or 16" wide set up. Basically if you shaved/cut 1/2" off the edges of a 16" track you would have the same 15" track you are used to...The extra inch was gained by just adding a half inch of width to the ouside of the windows on each side. Everything in the center remained the same
