Ok, so I rode the other half's 09 800 RMK yesterday and noticed a big difference in the ride. Turning really sucked.
Does anyone know what the major differences are in the ride adjustments between the 700 and the 800? I actually rolled over twice to the left with this sled. I have NEVER done that on the Dragon. As well I had to ride further back on the boards to keep it stable. If I was forward I felt like I was going to go over the bars. As well I had to stand on the right side of the sled most of the time to stay up. Standing on the back of the board did not turn the sled like the 07. Again, turning just seemed out of whack. Thanks for the help up up front!

maybe a tweaked a arm , does not take much to bend one , and it makes a big difference in the turning ability

Like AK said, check the bar angle.
Off the top of my head the shocks might be setup different, the limiters maybe set different so one has less ski pres. ( mine doesn't turn for crap with them let out, but it sure is more fun off the trail) There are a few things to start with. Really the 09 should turn better, it has different spindles on it than the 07's if I remember correctly. |

ok, there are some HUGE differences between the 07 700 Dragon and 09 800 RMK.
First and formost, steering geometry. The front spidles of the 07 were bad and led to a real heavy feel to the steering and it took a lot more effort to turn the sled on anything other than powder snow. The seat is radically different. THe 07 had a much wider seat. This means you have to stand with a slightly wider stance. It is a little more uncomfortable to ride IMO. The tail light is mounted on the back of the seat, which means you either have to kick higher or you risk kicking it right off the sled (wife did that). On the dash, there is an adjuster knob for the head lights. This is a direct opening into the air box. This led to a lot of snow injestion thru this hole. IF you put the front skid shock in the laydown position and the strap in the middle hole, it will climb up easier and not wheelie when going up steep hills. That's off the top of my head. If you would like the solutions to these and some other minor stuff, let me know. I can give you a full line of stuff that I did to the wifes sled that made HUGE differences in how it performs.

Thanks all! I will take a look at all this and see what is up.
Again, thanks for the good information about where to look. I will follow up with what I find so others can benefit. I noticed that the seat was definitely slippery compared to the 07, so it could definitely be the riding position/stance too.

It turns out the upper a-arm has a nice crease in it.
The other half does not remember hitting anything!!! ![]() Will get this taken care of and see if that was the issue.
