Define close... I'd look into going up to Fairfield and riding in that area. There is sledding closer to Twin out of Diamondfield Jack's but the riding would be way better out of Fairfield.
I was born and raised in Twin, not a bad town but I can't stand how much it's grown. It's got everything a person would ever need though as far as stores, and there is a lot of nice country within a reasonable drive for hiking, sledding, dirt bike riding, what have you.

Well, there's the mountains to the south, high desert riding I'm told. Then there's that ski course to the East, Pomerelle. First to get snow every year. Never been there. Then there's Fairfield. Some really good riding, if you get back in there. As, tame or treacherous as you choice. Then you can go big time, drive up to Stanley. God rides there. Search for references to 4th of July Lake. Or, you could go over to the Trinities. That's where I ride. Check out the Trinities Thread on here. Then I hear there's some snowmobiling up north of Arco.

All of this is 1 to 3 hours from you. Your in a pretty sweet spot for riding, but you will have to drive.

Twin seems to be an ok town. Much smaller than what I'm used to(moved from Minneapolis).

Probably base jumping off the high bridge, or is it canyon jumping? Or...beets?
