ok, so as not to highjack another thread lets take it here.

However, as with anything good, what do you do when it meets it's goal? You have two choices, you either leave it alone or expand it. Well the greenies wanted more and the federal government never leaves anything alone so they expanded it. The EPA has gotten so huge and so intrusive it can no longer be said to have any clear goal at all. It is simply been turned into another political tool to pay back the contributors to which ever party is in power. Shut the EPA down, turn regulation over to the states and save a few hundred billion a year in wasted money. The EPA (in conjunction with the consumer safety board, which also needs to go away) is the reason we have such crappy cars in this country. They already make cars that get 40+ miles to the gallon and run great. Of course you would have to move to Europe to get one since they are illegal in this country. EPA is the reason used in a lot of cases to destroy states ability to regulate it's own infastructure. You can't build ANYTHING anymore without paying the proper tribute to the EPA. It's rediculous and the EPA needs to go the way of the bloated buerocracy.

EPA is a joke. It has become an arm of the government used for control of it's people. They abuse their power far more than they use it for the good of the world.

I want someone to show me where the federal government even has the power to implement and run the EPA.
I can't find anything in the constitution that gives the federal government the authority to dictate to the states on any issue controlled by the EPA.

Here's another tyrannical agency. These are only a couple of stories of many. You can't grow you're own food and give it to others anymore.
"When an over-zealous regulator shows up at a farm dinner demanding that food be destroyed as hungry guests await, who do you call? Here's Laura's account written as a letter to her guests who had come to Quail Hollow Farm expecting a meal of foods harvested from local small family farms..." http://farmtoconsumer.org/quail-hollow-farm-dinner.htm Food co-op hit by SWAT raid fights back 'Government basically engaged in intimidation' Read more: Food co-op hit by SWAT raid fights back http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=84445#ixzz1cTBrqNr6

To a certain point, yes.
However.... without safety standards, how low will companies go to save money? Who's going to enforce them? Ever visited a country without EPA, OSHA, DOT? It's kind of scary. I do agree, however, that a lot of it is excessive.

[QUOTE=Mule;668513]To a certain point, yes.
However.... without safety standards, how low will companies go to save money? Who's going to enforce them?QUOTE] IT's called the states. The EPA, OSHA and such can be run by the federal government. That isn't the issue. The issue is whether those agencies have the authority to force the states to do what they want and the answer would be no. The EPA can come out and say anything they want, they can make any recommendation they want. It is up to the states if they want to do it or not. All of those agencies should be nothing more than an advisory board with no enforcement powers at all. All enforcement should be done at the state level if at all.

Very true. Originally, the city's and counties were supposed to have more power and say so than the State, the State was supposed to have more power than the Federal Government... Now it's the exact opposite, Much easier to buy off a few officials and get a whole country that way

Now, take a long look at our nice dead trees in Northern Colorado. Then call the EPA and thank them for not letting the USFS log and spray for beetles back in the 80s and 90s. Dead and red trees are so much prettier than green healthy trees.
