I'd take it for a rip on the dirt, kill the motor with the throttle at wide open. Look at the plugs and check piston wash. For a drag sled, it's gonna be at wide open for it's run anyway. The other thing we always do is check the take off, does it bog? If so, does giving it some choke clean it up or make it worse? If it gets better, bump the pilot UP in size. If worse bog, drop the pilots. More fuel is good on a drag sled. Are you using the air box or filters? Loss of airbox will cause sled to run lean (more air, less fuel). Gear it for 85mph and hold on.

Gearing is 210 there is no real bottom end it does not even move untill about 6,000 rpm. it just seems like its screaming but not moving as fast as i would think for how it sounds.Oh it has the air box on it.

I think I remember Bumps was setup that way, said it was a snowcross helix or something?
He's on vacation right now but he would be able to answer just about every issue or question you have. |

6000 is a bit steep for me, but pretty normal for those sleds. Had ours setup for about 5500 so it would trench so bad in the powder. Not an issue for you. With the 2:10 gearing im thinking you may be getting to the end of shift out. Have you taken a marker to your clutches and checked it? 2:10 is great for snocross, but for what youre doing I think youd be better off with about 1:85-1:90 With the clutching setup with the 6000 engagment you should still have plenty to get you off the line.
As to the jetting, It was nailed above. Do some dirt drags with it and adjust it just as he said. Those 440's are very picky. Scream when they are dialed, fall dead flat on their face when they are not. With that said, you must be very close to right on. Get it in a dark shop and take a flashlight to the entire bellypan area. Any where that you can see light shining through needs to be sealed up tight!!! Get the big tub of silicone out and get to work. That will sink you quicker than anything!!! If you should sink, always remember to shut down the motor BEFORE it goes under. Hydro-lock does ugly things. Shut it down, drain it and go try again. Have fun!

I'd personally drop the starting range on the primary a bit to drop the r's to 5500 or 5000. No need to trench on the line.
