Well we are now about ready to flood. with the run off from the mountains not quite here, and the river rising.. its time to start sand bagging the realtives house.
the river right now is at 15 feet. flood stage is 16 feet. we have a dam north of us that is so full of water they are having to increase the flow of the output, which is flooding us to the south.. but the only way they can control the water level in the dam is bye letting out more water.. right now the water is comign in at roughly 120kcfs and only leaving at 75kcfs.. and the river has risen about 8 feet sense the start of it.. they are projecting right now, the river will get up to the 20-21 feet stage, and then stay like this all the way to july. we figure we have about 4-5 more days b4 the water gets to the point where it really jumps up. we can watch the water rise from the time we started this morning sand bagging till the time we quite tonight. here are some pics first trip to get sand bags.. loaded and unloaded them.. in all today we did 11 truck loads and one flat bed car trailer full.

Thanks for teh thread Kyle, hopefully take some pics driving around today. Hopefully get two mroe houses done today, one my grandma's house and the other is my dad's condo he owns.
Easiest to keep up with flood updates and Corp of Engineers lying to us on: http://www.Bismarcktribune.com I will get into the lies and mess of this when I am done working today, so late tonight could be an interesting post. I will tell you emotions are running VERY high right now and heads will roll when this fawker crests. |

thanks for the updates.
I'm sending prays and dry thoughts your way! OK now some questions. Is that bladder filled with water and then it hugs the contours of the ground to keep water from creeping under? How well do the sandbags work at holding off water and for how long? What keeps the water from seeping/creeping under the barriers? Is the plastic over the bags to help keep them from becoming saturated? I assume once they sand is saturated they are not very effective? And what the heck happens to all the sand after?
