Default Mountain fit hood vents

Blew up the belt on the M-1000 last week, spent over $100.00 to replace it. blew up cuase it was hot, and the people i was riding with.( friends of friends) happened to own mountain fit hoods, so he told me to get some vents. I did a search on the net for vents, and his were the most reasonable so i bought a pair.
they came with every thing i needed, and finished up nice. looking forward to hitten the hills and trying them out, if this warm weather ever goes away. Thanks Bill, of Mountain fit hoods for a much needed product at a reasonable price!

So... I have some old "angled"/"louvered" vents... just those little ones allowed enough snow through that my belt would slip on the clutch in powder. What does everyone say about these newer BIG vents allowing snow into the clutch? Belt slippage?

Thumbs up

Bill at Mountain Fit Hoods is a good guy. He's always treated me MORE than fair and stands behind the vents and hoods he makes.

Powdercrew, I rode with these guys all day, and i was the only one with clutch problems, I was a little skepticle about moister also, he pointed out they have prefilters on them to keep out the wet! When i got them it made sense. it has what looks like course screen on them, and then a layer a fine mesh. also looks plenty durable, will let you know how they do when i get out again.

Thanks Genghis... these are the sidevents I have. I layed animal screen behind them and that solved the issue, hesitant to go with a bigger screened/non-louvered vent. Appreciate your feedback...

I have mountainfit sidepanel vents and shock tower vent clutch side. They work great just last weekend my uncle and buddy both blew belts running hard down the trail coming back from the big sky area in west. Their secondaries you could hardly touch right away, mine you could lay your hand on it and it was just warm. After seeing that I think they work great so i'm adding the exhaust side shock tower vent also.
