Wild Rice

Anyone ever gonne ricing?

Gonna give it a go this year and my old man has been out of it so long he isn't a wealth of knowledge. Just looking for info. And of course if I do halfway decent I should have some for sale this fall.

i haven't but my dad has. they just took a canoe and went thru the paddies and peeled the rice off into the canoe. then they would put it in gunny sacks and take it to the coop and sell it

I got that part, I am looking for tips on best way to pole and knock the rice.

Got a cousin who is gonna hook me up with a couple different processors that will finish up the green rice for small batches.
