Default M7 making a grinding noise over bumps...

I have an '05 M7 and everytime I go over a bump that pushes against the middle part of the track I get a grinding noise/feel. Anyone have any idea what this could be, I've looked and looked and can't figure it out. It feels like its happening right by my left foot, maybe a little further back.

I do have a 150" track on a 153 skid, could this be part of it? Thanks!

Did you just recently change out the track or have the skid frame out? The rear shock lower mount may have flipped on you and is hitting the track.

This happened to me, but it was cuz my rails are cracked, how it flipped no clue. used a big bar and gave it a little love, and back to good, but still gotta replace rails!

that is the sound of the drive wheels ratcheting on the track lugs because the MAIN JACKSHAFT BEARING IS ABOUT TO FAIL AND IS LOOSE AND/OR ELONGATED. let me guess, you have 3200 miles on it. CATS factory bearing fail at 3000 to 3500 miles like clock work. what you do is replace them all with NTN BLUE SIDED SEALED RACING BEARINGS and you'll never have that problem again. get up under there and lift track off ground in back and reach you hand on shaft in front and see if she wiggles. should be it.

Thanks for the replies guys. The sled only has 1700 miles on it but it wouldn't surprise me if it is a bearing since that is sorta what it sounds like. I need to figure out a way to recreate the noise with me able to look at it.

I did just have a gear and bearing replaced in the DD and was hoping that was it...

I just looked and can't see anything like that.

It's pretty frozen up right now so I can't get it to do much. I'm thinking it is the front drive axle bearing tho.

It was more common on the older Powder specials. 580 EXT, and so on. The newer D-Drives sleds dont have the same problems.
