got this from craig...

I'd like to thank all the racers, crew members, family and spectators who came out to Knik Lake Vintage Event Sunday. I think the event was a HUGE success! and a very fun time.

The -10F temperature and the lack of snow on the lake didn't keep anybody away. The race was safe, fast and very exciting! Just ask Tim Brett, at 630PM he was still laughing about falling off his Polaris while bumping a beautiful GPX338 for the lead...in front of all the spectators at the starting line!
If anybody has some pictures to post up...send them to me...I'll send them out when I get the rest of the results from Bryan.

We had 7 Iron Pup racers that participated....
we had 27 drag racers entered....
and 45 closed course participants...for a total of 79 entries! I know of 17 racers that had to work and couldn't make the show.

We collected 36 cans of food to be donated to the local food bank. Thanks racers!

A suggestion was made to take all of the racer fees and donate to injured racer/extreme rider Paul Thacker of Anchorage, AMMC/WRL decided to match the rider fee toward the donation. AMMC/WRL, with your help, will donate $430 to Paul. KWHL's Bob and Mark did an awesome spot on AMMC and Paul on Friday ,anyone catch it?

I'd like to personally thank ALL of Rattle Can Racing for their support and assistance at setting up/tear down the course and for some great ideas. Thanks Cody!
Thanks to the following for helping me out while my son is recuperating....
Dave Locklear Sr
Jim Miller
Mike Hardy
Derek Hardy
And if I left anyone out...thanks again!

Hobo Jim played immediately after the awards...if you left, you missed a great show!

Thanks to Dwight of Knik Bar! Team CC, Coca-Cola of Alaska, Alaska Spine Institute! We need these sponsors! Thank them!

Door prize sponsors were, Valley Boyz Racing, Wasilla Arctic Cat, Performance Yamaha, Ray in Alabama, Denali Harley-Davidson and Rattle Can Racing!
