2 things I would wonder about.

first off, is it water proof? I didn't see anything about if it was waterproof or at least water resistant.

Second, with such a wide field of view (170 degrees) everything is going to appear pretty far away. You would have to be pretty close to get any real good action. I would think anyway. I am by no means an expert.

yea, worth checking out.

I run the Vio pov.
I haven't heard of the Drift Innovation X170.
If you find out anything, good or bad, be sure and update us.
The wife wants a recorder also, something about her wanting to film the idiot doing stupid stuff. Guess it's hard to do when the idiot is wearing the only camera.
the price of another vio is a little steep.

haha. Yeah, I'm just like your wife; need my own! Hubby pretty much wears the cam we have now. We have a nice bullet cam with a canon video recorder with the lanc remote but, all those wires can be a pain. I was looking at the vholdr contour when I ran across this one.

my buddy just got one of these: http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=2 and i was actually impressed with it. yah the picture does kinda have that "bubble" effect but it's pretty good quality really. waterproof and it can take still pics as well as video. i think total he spent about $250 on it with a extra memory card and all kinds of different mounts.

just something else to look in to.....

I did look at the gopro but, just can't get past that big square form factor. Seems like it would get in the way and not have as many mounting options. A lot of peeps really like them though.

I think I'm going to pick up the new Vholdr Contour HD1080P. Supposed to be a very nice camera and is priced at $329. If you dont want full 1080p they have a 720p model at about $250.
