I responded to a guy's Craigslist ad to see if he would swap his SLP pipe/can setup and primary for my stock parts plus some cash and he's interested. How much cash should I throw into the deal to make it fair?

What year parts, what kind of condition are the parts in, how much do you want for your parts vs what is he asking for his parts.

Both sleds are 03 Vertical Escapes. He has a (at least judging by the photos) very good condition SLP single system on it. My sled has a good condition stock single. I was wanting to swap the pipe setup and primary with him. No idea what kind of shape his primary is in just yet.

EDIT- attached a photo from the CL listing. Looks to be well cared for, owner says sled has 1800 miles on it.

well a new primary is around 400, the slp single and can is around 500.
new prices.

so, 900 minus wear and tear I would go for between 500 and 600 to outright buy them from him.

So I would offer around a hundred plus parts.
The primary would be pretty much a straight swap, the difference would be in the pipe and can.

That would be my 2c anyway.

I was thinking 50-100, good to know I'm not too far off. The only reason I want to swap primary's is because the clutching is a little different for the SLP setup than stock.

I'm betting you won't get it for less than $200 but good luck...maybe paint yours up really nice

ya i sold my slp single set for $350

stock pipes and cans are pretty much given away

probably going to have to give $250++

Heinracing would have a better idea than I would.
So you may have to pony up some more.
Try lower and see what happens.
