Default M8 backshift sucks

Hey guys, I got an 08 M8 that has a backshift problem, mostly when going down hill. I looked at clutches and don't see any roller wear. I was told that a shift assist would help. Anyone try these things and what results. Are they a b*tch to install? Thanks for any info guys

run one in mine, you just have to pull apart the secondary and remove one plastic shim and add the assist...

The RKT Secondary kit is supposed to work really well on the 07-08's. I would talk to Kelsey at RKT and he will set you up with some great backshift.

Going through the same thing add some better rollers and a shift assist, if you don't feel comfortable doing it take it to someone but it is not that hard you have to build a tool out of readyrod, washers and nuts, then carefully remove bolts and replace them, its actually pretty easy with the right tools pm me if you want and i can help you through it.

The RKT kit solves that problem completely.

The shift assist helps, but the RKT does a MUCH better job of allowing you to fine tune.

I've run both, it's worth the extra $$ for Kelsey's kit.

Just for what it worth, I ran the RKT kit on my 07 and it worked well. I recently went with the Cutler's conversion on my Turbo and in my opinion it's a much nicer kit. No drilling the secondary, you get new rollers, you do away with the stock rollers and pins. I just feel it's better thought out and a more complete kit. If you call Dale he can get you squared away, I don't know if anyone on earth knows more about clutching than that guy.

What's your spring set on, can you just tighten the spring a notch? That should help the backshift.
