Late 70's and early 80's snopro racers by all the manufacturers were and are very cool and now very expensive, some of these sleds are being recreated using stock chassis and are being raced again.

Default more snopros

Back when we lived in eastern South Dakota we went to see them race on the high banked dirt track at Aberdeen SD in 1980 and 1981, they put down about a foot of ice for them to race on, very cool.

All I can remember is in 1971 and 2 I had the chance to race for Western Power sports out of Boise Idaho and rode 2 of there machines, one was an 800 triple, and the other was a 600 triple, boy was that a thrill, I think the machines only weighed in at about 300+ lbs with about 125hp............wish I had some pictures but never thought about it back than.................

My dad still has a new never titled, never run, 76 Doo 250 RV and a 399 Olympic. Him and my grandpa had a dealership on the farm from 69-76. I think my dad got sick of wrenching on sleds and not being able to ride.

another pic from a couple years ago, there is a circut in Minn and Wisc that still races on ice, most of the sleds are reproductions with hoods cast from copied molds on mostly stock chassis.
