any motorcycle shop or sled shop can get them for you...i use the kimpex brand, they are a heated element that goes under the grip and sticks on like a sticker.. comes with wiring and switch for 29.95 in parts unlimted. order 2 sets...use 2 on the left as the aluminum bar acts as a heat sink. then you will have a spare for the right when the throttle side wire breaks...

If I were running a liquid, I would go chain drive for sure. On my fanner with only ~60 HP, I think the rotating mass/weight savings of the belt drive is still relevant. I don't have TLS since airing out and landing at full throttle on hard pack is more an eastern/snocrossers problem, not as much a mountain/powder problem. Not to mention the added expense of the wide belt...

The Factory race 503 Hawk w/TLS, I had for a couple of seasons('03-'05), was modified by Rob "Labrador Boy" when he was developing for ADBoivin, back in the day. The tuning was for snowcross holeshots and corner exits. It was also a test bed for 600HO development parts.

It came with prototype yellow plastic, which is presently on my personal Hawk(shrunken and sun faded).

It had both the prototype for twin axis and the prototype ski(that is now standard, we were still using the boat ski or skinny sled ski then...) which was made from a Skidoo ski that had been cut lengthwise and sandwiched together with a center section to increase width.

It had the same fork set up as the '04 600. I can't remember if it was just springs or valving as well.

The clutches were stock with the exception of the primary spring and secondary helix which was custom machined(I think is was 44/40, can't remember exactly) instead of the usual 50/44.

The carbs had UFO's installed on the bottoms of the slides.

He ran the BPR or ECS plugs, I'll check my notes on the subject to see which.

The track lugs were 100% bolted with screw-in studs.

Now, I'll HAVE dig out my notes and see what else had been done to the machine, just to be curious.

So I finally got the sled and its an 02 with the 136 track and it has the updated ski and snow tracker but is just about stock other than that so im just wondering what else to do to it I'm installing the 9 gallon tank and I'm going to do heated grips and hand guards. And i'm going to try to do the new clutches and track studs and possibly the chain drive. Hopefully I can come up with the money for all of this haha

I just want to make sure that i understand right.Im about to put back a 503 fanner for next year and i was thinking of installing the TLS with wide belt on it.Even if i blow 2 belt on my 600 this season,I tought that the system was strong enought to handle the 60 Hp of a 503 wide open in the hoops and jump.

Did you have a wide or narrow cog belt (60mm or 36mm) and what brand.

I have the stock 36mm belt on my 503, not the TLS and 60mm belt. If I rode lots of hardpack, ice, groomers, sno-x or ditches or if I had a studded track, I would want TLS or Chain drive.

Hit up Buffalohawk. He studded his if I remember right and used specific length studs for each size of paddle.

Anyone got any pictures of how they studded there hawk tracks just looking for a little insight on how some people did it cause i'm looking to stud my hawk this winter. The trails i'll be riding are mainly in southern vermont and northern mass and usually have icy corners with the average snowfall of 2-4 feet a year sometimes more sometimes less. Any insight would be nice thanks.

Has anyone tried putting reverse in there hawk it is a rotax motor, just wondering if anyone had tried it thought it might help with some unloading issues there are with these off a truck with one guy. I also asked about oil injection once and was told it would suck air if the sled were on its side which i never thought of so is there anything i haven't thought about for the reverse??? I'm also sure if i do reverse i'll need a different secondary which is ok cause im changing that anyways.
